Narcissistic Personality  (NPD)Disorder

'Empress' Shebah Sai Ra III-A Case Study?

August 10, 2012 -- Updated 1129 GMT

Document Summary

Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) as described in the case study below, is one of 10 clinically recognized personality disorders listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition-Text Revision (DSM-IV-TR). It is one of 4 Cluster B personality disorders, which are those marked by an intense degree of drama and emotionality. Historically, there has been much debate surrounding the exact definition of the disorder and competing theories exist regarding its etiology and optimal treatment. Many con artists are trapped in NPD. There are in fact psycuperiosity complex, egotism, vanity, selfishness, and obsessive compulsive personality disorder..

The American Psychiatric Association specifies the following diagnostic criteria in its definition of NPD:

Debra Amelia George-Kasambura aka Shebah Sai Ra III
''Empress'' of the Imaginary Nubian Kingdom of the Imaginary
African Kingdoms Federation

  1. A grandiose sense of self-importance (eg, the individual exaggerates achievements and talents and expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements
  2. A preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
  3. A belief that he or she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)
  4. A need for excessive admiration
  5. A sense of entitlement (ie, unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations)
  6. Interpersonally exploitative (ie, takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends)
  7. A lack of empathy (is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others)
  8. Envy of others or a belief that others are envious of him or her
  9. A demonstration of arrogant and haughty behaviors or attitude

When a person has delusions of grandure or rather NPD, he may believe that he has extraordinary powers. Often people with this condition think they are famous historical figures. Needless to say ; they seem to believe in their own fables. They are unware of the pathological nature and origin of their self-delusions and are, thus, technically delusional. Here we have for example a woman claiming to be a reincarnated Balkis Makeda (Queen of sheba of the ancient kingdom of  Sheba ) living among us in the twenty first century as an average person and showing us the way to Yahweh and ultimate truth.  It would mean obviously that this person is about  300 years old of age. So firmly possed by her own unrealistic fantasy the troubled subject  will go at great lenght to convince her audience that she is infact "the one".

Narcissistic and Sociopath are two of the same kind. You can be forgiven for hearing 'sociopath' and thinking of deranged, brutal serial killer. But what you are actually thinking of would be a psychopath, not a sociopath. They might sound the same, but they are not. Sociopath are masters at influence and deception. They are adept at lying. Above everything else, they are great manipulators. No matter what, they will work hard at making it appear that  there are genuinely working for a good cause.Very little of what they say actually checks out in terms of facts or reality, but they are extremely skillful at making the things they say sound believable, even if they are just making them up out of thin air.  They widly exagerate things to the point of absurdity, but when they describe it to you in a storytelling format, for some reason it sounds believable at the time. .
" The driving force which has brought about the most tremendous revolutions on this earth has never been a body of scientific teaching which has gained power over the masses, but always a devotion which has inspired them, and often a kind of hysteria [passion] which has urged them into action. Whoever wishes to win over the masses must know the key that will open the door of their hearts.”[pp.41-42]Adolf Hitler
To win over to the heart of the masses, a skilled sociapath  relies on all the popular technical means at his disposal- the press, radio TV, movies, Internet, e-mail, texting Tweeters, Youtube, Internet Radio, Newspapers, Magazine and so forth} -
It is a matter of reaching and encircling a whole targeted group.
 .
.We are in the presence of an organized myth that tries to take hold of an entire community. Through the myth it creates, it imposes a complete range of intuitive knowledge, susceptible of only one interpretation; unique and one sided, and precluding any divergence. It stimulates in the individual a feeling of exclusiveness; and produces a biased attitude.

'Often the deluder and his crowed have a common interest to maintain the storyline.. To challenge the integrity of the storyteller or the veracity of his fables is to threaten the very fabric of a rather well orchastrated organisation. The very core of which is built around such entertaining deviations from the truth.

Each time a sociapath is on the look out, they always have a little cult group following  who consider that particular sociopath to be a ''guru'' or ''prophet''.

They will worship blindly and dogmatically every words said without realizing that they are being progressively dragged into a much greater self-centred agenda. They become so hyptnotized by the projected glossy image of the trickster that they can no longer see through things rationally even when all evidences are pointing out to say that something just does not add up. They have simply fallen under the spell of the imposter.

Sociopaths never answer facts, they always attack the messenger

A valuable red flag to recognize when trying to spot a sociopath is to see how they deal with attacks on their integrity. If a sociopath is presented with a collection of facts, documents and evidences showing that he lied or deceived, he will refuse to address the evidence and, instead attack the messenger!

When confronted, the overall pattern of behavior is emotional instability and aggressive behavior caused by insecurity and weakness rather than any real feelings of confidence or self-esteem. He rather uses tantrum as a way of keeping his uncomfortable feelings from being exposed. He sees the revelation as a threat to his self and react with fake shame and humiliation -He relies on emotional tactics to  gain sympathy but when he sees that it simply does not  work he weaves new fabrications to explain away whatever he has been caught red-handed. The fact is sociopaths are masters at weaving elaborate fictional explanations to justify their actions while demonstrating an overwhelming, arrogant, unhealthy attention seeking at the same time trying to portray themselves as a wonderful, kind , caring and compassionate person, seeing nothing wrong with their behavior and choosing to remain oblivious to the discrepancy between how they like to be seen and how they are actually seen by others. The point is that even the best con act can only go for so long before people start getting suspicious.

The narcissists sociopath are compulsive liar and are very skillful in presenting their lies. When they get caught in their web of lies, they will cook up another story of how they are falsely accused or will deny them totally with another story to back up their claim of innocence.

Lying is their normal reflexive way of reacting to questions. They lie to achieve their goals with little regard or respect for the rights and feelings of others. They hate to lose any argument or fight and will viciously defend their web of lies, even to the point of logical absurdity. They do not think twice about destroying the reputations, health and well-being or the livelihood of others if they represent obstacles to getting what they want. They never feel guilt.  Even if shown proof of they wrong, instead go on the attack.

Beware of fact-checking the sociopath by asking other people under his or influence. A sociopath will usually have a small group of cult-like followers who not only believe their fictional tales, but who actually internalize those fictions to the point where they rewrite their own memories to be consistent with them.

Nobody on this planet is clever enough to identify an experienced con artist at first sight. Perhaps only the true sceptical may be able to, but not always. It is important to realise that anyone can become a victime, even people who regard themselves as too intelligent and sophisticated to be conned.

A sociopath 's ''people skills'' are off the charts. To be good at conning, he needs to be manipulative, charming, and a flawless pathological liar.  His success often depends on his ability to persuade people to ignore common sense and their own best interests, and for that he must be convincing. A skill he has developed to the point of instinct..It doesn’t matter whether we’re talking about multi-million dollar Ponzi Pyramid or a thirty-dollar sweepstake rip off, people who are scammed let their guard down for a minute (or for years, depending on the sort of scam they’re involved in) and fall into a trap. That doesn’t mean that they’re naïve, it means that for whatever reason, they didn’t look at all the angles of the deal before they handed over their money. The “con” in “con man” comes from the word “confidence” because a scam artist gains the confidence of the victim. The con man gained that victim’s trust. The con man may have all the tools to cajole his victim into surrendering his bank account numbers, but it’s the victim who is distracted from his own best interests during the execution of the con. Sociopaths are masters at presenting themselves as heroes with hight morals and philosophy, yet underneath it they are the true criminal minds in society who steal, undermine, deceive; and often incite emotional chaos among entire communities. They are masters at turning one group of people against another group while proclaiming themselves to be the one true savior. Wherever they go, they create strife, arguments and hatred, yet they utterly fail to see their own role in creating it.
